Sony's new Project morpheus prototype

I really don't understand why Sony even dipped their feet into augmented reality when they had something like this. Everybody knows that consumers really want a device is just nerdy enough that they can have major fun in the privacy of their home. I'm kidding... If you really want to wear this outside in public be my guess. But at this time if you compared Sony's Project Morpheus to the Oculus Rift then this actually looks like a competitor.

With its sleek design and classy colors this prototype looks more like a finished product. And at the Game Developers Conference Event Sony also released many of the new updates that they made to the headset. Some of the features that were added to the headset were:

  • 120 Hz Refresh Rate
  • Key Display Update
  • OLED Display (1920 x RGB x 1080)
  • 5.7 Inch Display (Large enough for 100 degree movement)
  • 9 New LED Trackers (To provide 360 degree tracking)
Sony also hinted that new games for the Morpheus would have to wait for E3. So you already know what event i am waiting for. Virtual Reality Games are going to be there and Bethesda is going to be there, i am so excited! Sadly we still have a long time to wait because Sony said that the device will be released early 2016 and they haven't released a price. But i really can't wait for the first major console VR system.
