With every major tech company getting their feet wet in the virtual reality industry, everybody expected new and innovative devices to come out soon. But nobody expected Sony to release anything... Well nothing like this. This right here is called the Sony SmartEyeGlass. It may not look that bad from that picture but just watch this video.

Before i start criticizing this video i have to give Sony the benefit of the doubt because they are not the only company with ugly eye wear. Just look at Microsoft's Hololens, Facebook's Oculus Rift, and even the Google Glasses they are all ugly devices. The problem is that when you give a nerdy tech company the choice between focusing on the technology or the cosmetics; The choice is very clear... The technology. But the problem that Sony has is that they tried to advertise their product as cool enough to leave your house with. And that is where it all went downhill.
First of all these SmartEyeGlasses are not good looking. I don't even think Spock would consider dropping his Rose red visor's for those.
Not only do they look like Michael Phelp's swimming goggles but you are also going to have Sony's brand on your chest 24/7. And the worst part is... Not having an outfit to wear it with (kidding). But seriously Sony there are so many problems that i see with this product, for example the wire on the glasses looks way to thin and cheap. Just imagine paying $840 for this product and then messing it up because the wire got caught in your jacket; I would be devastated. But the most important question is why did you even add that wire in the first place. I understand that it holds the battery and the controller, but it is just so ugly and it looks like a wii controller connected to your face.
Sony if you feel that this product is everything that you guys wanted in an augmented reality glasses, then by all means go through with it. And most likely i'll probably buy it. It's hard being a sexy beast everyday so i need something like this to help repel girls away.
